RIVERSIDE VIEWS, NAUTICAL THEMED PUB & BEER GARDEN
AA ROSETTE FOOD, CAMRA PUB

Our Story

The Crown & Mitre is a Grade II listed building built as private houses in the 1600's and converted into a pub in 1743.

Since that date the premises have retained not just the name but also the licence, and today it is an independent freehold pub. In 2023 the pub was purchased by me, a hospitality professional with over 30 years’ experience running pubs, wine bars and hotels in the UK and abroad.

Born and raised locally in King’s Lynn, I’ve returned home to my roots eager to create something next-level for the town and West Norfolk — a pub known for great beer, thoughtful wine and food worth travelling for, rather than another run-of-the-mill chain experience. The Crown & Mitre aims to be a go-to destination while staying true to warm, informal hospitality and, first and foremost, remaining unmistakably a pub.

Located at the end of Ferry Street on the shores of the great River Ouse, the pub is steeped in nautical memorabilia, adding a touch of quirkiness that gets you wondering how old it is and where it all came from.

THE VINERY

The Vinery and our Beer Garden provide wonderful views over the Ouse to enjoy a drink, meal and relax with friends.

Our menus brings a touch of indulgence, along with pub classics. We focus on local sustainable produce and with being on the river and a nautical pub – a lean towards all things fishy. We champion local ales and craft beer brewers, local gin and rum producers.

Four legged furry friends are welcome. Well behaved adults can bring children too!

We look forward to hosting you very soon.
